Here is the second part of the review in Santorini’s beaches, featuring organised and cosmopolitan beaches as well as more tranquil and secluded ones, for all tastes and spirits.
Agios Georgios-Perivolos: This organized beach features black sand and crystal clear waters, creating an amazing landscape in cosmopolitan ambience, perfect for long sunbathing in comfortable sunbeds while listening to summer music from the beach bars. Here you will find beautiful shops and don’t be surprised if you meet a celebrity, it’s their favourite beach.
It is accessible by bus.
Vlychada beach: An organized beach of exceptional beauty, featuring white volcanic rock formations which creates the feeling of swimming in a lunar landscape. Vlychada is ideal for those who prefer the less crowded and more tranquil beaches, as long as it needs some hiking to be reached. There is no bus service straight to the beach, the bus from Fira to Akrotiri drives you until a certain point.
Perissa: Awarded with EU blue flag, this amazing beach is the natural extension of Perivolos. Perissa appeals to the most adventurous as it is ideal for watersports and diving from Kolada, the rocks at the end of the beach.
Bus service available
Katharos beach: It is a non-organised beautiful beach, featuring black pebbles and clean, shallow water. It is the closest beach to Oia, and is accessible by car but needs a little walk along the dirt road to reach it. Serene and tranquil, Katharos is suitable for couples and companies seeking tranquillity.
