With a comprehensive reference to Santorini’s indigenous grapes, wines and wineries, Nina Caplan, wine connoisseur, explains everything about winemaking in Santorini and its ancient roots. As she notices, it’s the Greeks that taught the Romans to make wine.

The editor herself, stayed at Vedema and describes it as a gorgeous former winery, transformed into a cluster of villas and possessing an excellent open-air restaurant, spa and rooms with patio Jacuzzis and vineyard views. “Vedema’s wine bar, in the old cellars, offers private tastings, enjoyed by, among others, Jodie Foster (who knows her wines, according to the sommelier).
